Animal Disease Preparedness In The 2018 Farm Bill
Washington, D.C., December 11, 2018 – The 2018 Farm Bill conference report contains important provisions to increase our country’s preparedness to respond to foreign animal disease threats. The establishment of a foot-and-mouth disease vaccine bank and increased funding for surveillance and diagnostic support through the National Animal Health Laboratory Network will provide important tools for protecting the health of our animals and the safety of our food supply in the face of disease threats.
The Animal Health Institute commends the House and Senate Agriculture Committee members and conferees for including these important protections.
