Announcing the Winners of the 2024 Cutest Pets on Capitol Hill Contest

Congratulations to Palmer the dog, Moony the cat, and Froth the baby cow for winning the 2024 Cutest Pets on Capitol Hill Contest.

“For sixteen years, the Cutest Pets on Capitol Hill Contest has demonstrated the power of pets to bring people together,” said Alex Mathews, President and CEO of the Animal Health Institute. “Congress plays an important role in ensuring appropriate funding for the federal agencies that oversee animal health regulations, and we are pleased to host this annual contest to bring together our Congressional friends.

The Cutest Dog 2024 goes to Palmer, who belongs to Joe Ballard from the office of Rep. Kelly Armstrong (ND). Moony is the Cutest Cat, proudly owned by Izzah Yousuf from the office of Rep. Al Green (TX-9). The Cutest Exotic is Froth the baby cow, who is owned by Larson Church in the office of Rep. Andrew Clyde (GA-9)

AHI thanks the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Rep. Kim Schrier (WA-8) and Rep. Kat Cammack (FL-3), who served as judges for the contest.

“I’m happy to once again partner with AHI to be a part of this event, which brings together members from both parties to share our mutual affection for our beloved pets. This event is also a fantastic reminder that ensuring our pets’ and animals’ health and safety is crucial for both their wellbeing and ours,” said Congresswoman Schrier. “That’s why in Congress, I’ve advocated for animal health through legislation like ADUFA to get new, innovative, and safe veterinary medications to market, and I am incredibly proud that this legislation was signed into law last September.”

“I’m honored to be a congressional judge for this year’s AHI Cutest Pets Contest,” said Rep. Cammack. “Folks on the Hill know my office is home to our three pups who often greet guests and visitors, so we always appreciate the opportunity to support our furry friends! This year’s Pet Night is also special as we pay homage to the heroes and animals who have served our nation. I’m grateful to the Animal Health Institute for inviting me to participate in this year’s event.”
