AHI Welcomes new Chairman of the Board, Tim Bettington

We are excited to announce that the AHI Board of Directors today elected Tim Bettington as the new Chairman of the Board. Bettington is executive vice president and president, U.S. Operations and Global Customer Experience for Zoetis.

A native of Australia, Bettington brings a deep background in animal health with more than 20 years of experience with various animal health companies in the U.S., Europe, and Australia.

Bettington takes on this leadership role as the industry is preparing for a critical legislative year in 2023, when Congress must reauthorize the Animal Drug User Fee Act (ADUFA) and the Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA), both of which are vital to ensuring efficient approval processes to facilitate new and innovative animal health products coming to market.  Other key challenges include addressing state legislation impacting the availability of animal medicines and the need for science-based international trade rules, both for animal medicines and animal protein products.

Joining Bettington on the AHI officer team for the next term are Past Chair Richard R. DeLuca, Jr. of Merck Animal Health and Treasurer Joseph N. Huff of Colorado Serum Company.

“We are grateful Tim has agreed to take on this role and look forward to working with him as AHI meets the regulatory and legislative challenges ahead,” said Alexander S. Mathews, AHI President and CEO.
